It was one year ago today...

Yep- February 4, 2006 was when Jen and I got married in Playa del Carmen, with 52 wonderful people along for the ride. Click here to see a nice big photo of the group.

As they say, time flies when you're having fun- the first year of marriage has been absolutely splendid. I used to have my doubts about the marriage institution (I'm not religious, I don't care about the legal part, I don't feel the need to validate my relationship to anyone, etc.), but there's something about *being married* to a wonderful, beautiful person  who you're wholly in love with...it's hard to put into words, but it just feels incredible. It's hard to believe that the magical experience in Playa took place an entire year ago. Jenny and I will never forget the joy we felt being surrounded by so many wonderful people, who traveled a long distance to help us celebrate.

We're heading back down to Playa in a little over a week, along with Matt and Joy. The timing couldn't be any better, as we're having our harshest stretch of Minnesota winter in years (it's -10 degrees outside right now, at 12:25 in the afternoon), and Jenny's been absolutely busting her ass at work, transitioning into a new job, while still performing all of the duties that were part of her old position.

We won't be staying at the same place (Las Palapas was booked), but instead we'll be right next door, at Shangri-La Caribe, where Joe, Nick, and Mike stayed for our wedding. I'm not sure what I'm looking forward to the most: hot sun, soft sandy beaches, refreshing ocean, daquiris, tequila, delicious food, scuba diving...I'm so freaking excited!
